The National Board of Anesthesiology, Inc. was originally incorporated in
1989 as a not-for-profit corporation. It is so recognized by the Internal
Revenue service as a 510(c)(6) nonprofit corporation.
The N.B.A. is governed by a six-person board
of directors comprised of N.B.A. Diplomates who hold either the D.D.S. or
the D.M.D. Doctoral degrees. Each of the four geographical sections of the
United States are represented on the board.
Once a year this board administers both written and oral examinations to
qualified candidates in anesthesiology. Those examinations exemplify the
highest standards administered by specialty boards and qualifies the candidate
as a consultant in Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Management.
The examinations are offered without regard to any consideration of age, gender,
religious affiliation, race, handicap or martial status.
The N.B.A. is dedicated to assisting the American public in the selection
of qualified and competent anesthesiology care. The N.B.A. establishes and
maintains criteria for the designation of a Board Certified Anesthesiologist. |
